Namaste Ananda-Ashram,

Namaste Ananda-Ashram,

Thank you so much for the nice time with you! I really enjoyed one month yoga-teacher training. I learned not only how to practice asana but also to understand the philosophy and the whole meaning of yoga. This place does not know any kinds of stress; it gives you a feeling of peace and relaxation for your body and mind. It helped me to forget my daily lifestyle and to release any problems and tension. I think everybody can reach this emotional change; you just should be open-hearted and accept this ashram and the people in every way. I really liked also the morning and evening chanting with GuruJi, Swabhiman, children and other people, it made me always happy.

My yoga-teacher Ganga taught me professional the basics and advanced asanas, pranayama, mudra, bandha and more. She was always attentive and motivated and especially her soft, calm and patient presence and her beautiful voice during chanting make every class a good one. I like very much her way to teach, from the beginning to the end, because the combination of asanas, savasana and relaxation and pranayama were fluently coordinated. Her good explanation and the benefits of the asanas were also very important and helpfully during the class. I have taken her to my heart not only as a good teacher but also as a friend.

You have also enough time for yourself, to read a book, write your dairy or just relax in ashram or in the surrounding. You can also play with the children, help in the kitchen or in the garden, everything what you like, this can be also considered as Karma-Yoga  The nature with lots of nice singing birds and the beautiful view to the mountains and as well to the city Kathmandu is also very nice.

After every yoga-nidra class with GuruJi I felt very relaxed, but especially very harmonized and balanced. It refreshes and clears your mind and makes your mentally and physically more lightly.

The vegetarian food in Ashram prepared by Swabhiman, and sometimes in Guru-Ji’s house was very delicious, I enjoyed every meal. They use different kinds of vegetables cooked but also fresh and fresh fruits and yogurt….

My result after this month is easy to describe, I feel more relaxed and peacefully, my body has more flexibility and strength, my mind and body are in a very good balance and I feel lots of happiness and love. It was for me and my yoga-teacher future a very nice experience and I am really happy about this.

Wonderful Kirtan with kids

Everything is so different compared to other Ashrams that I have experienced, but in a very positive way. I enjoyed a lot the time that I spent (10 days) here. It is the right place for meditation, Pranayama, to study and just to face your self. I learned about my good and bad sides and also a lot about my “True Self”.

Everything here feels filled with pleasure and love. Food was served always smiling and with affection (probably the best food in Nepal). Wonderful Kirtan with kids, the Silence The airy room with the beautiful view of Kathmandu and even sometimes The Himalayan –range.

With lots of love

Relaxing, Educational & Rewarding Experience

I stayed here for 10 days, 8 of which I spent in Silence. The whole experience was relaxing, educational and rewarding. Shivgiri’s family was hospitable and the food was Amazing! Ganga and Raj were excellent teachers and really changed me. I am grateful to have learned all aspects of yoga as taught by Ananda Yoga Centre. I was here during Dasain festival and the family invited me to participate and attend the festival events with them. I felt very welcome and comfortable here, even in silence. The people I met here consider everyone a teacher.

Wonderful Ananda Yoga Ashram Nepal

Posted by Ananda Yoga Center on July 22, 2012 at 6:20 AM Comments comments (1)

HARI OM, my name is Thommas Michaud and come from Vancouver Island Canada. I have been at Ananda Yoga Nepal for 9 weeks, from the middle of May till the end of July 2012. One of my good friend Swami Maheshananda and it has been one of the great times of my life in India and Nepal.

My first visit to India was in 1974 and I spent 5 years untill 1981 practicing yoga, meditation and music. I have been teaching yoga, meditation, tai chi, and music for many years.

Here at Ananda Yoga Ashram, Nepal, I participated in the Yoga Teacher Training in the style of the Bihar Yoga and I received another certification of Yoga Teacher.

Ananda Yoga Nepal is the perfect place to practice and learn Yoga, Meditation, philosophy, Yoga Nidra, mantra chanting, kirtan and satsang. Shivgiri, is the head of the Ananda Yoga Nepal and he has great sense of humor and knows how to make everyone at ease in his ashram. He presently leads meditation, yoga nidra, mantra chanting, satsang and receives the many local people which are coming to visit and learn from him.

Ananda Yoga Nepal has several yoga teachers and staff, who are all very competent and friendly and good musicians too. They love sharing their knowledge with the residents of the ashram and also bring them to local interest sites and temples. Several children are also learning and love to participate at special events, mantra chanting and kirtans.

A very tasty and healthy Vegetarian food is served daily with several vegetables from Ananda Yoga Nepal’s garden, lentils, raw slice vegetable, teas and fruits. It is absolutely great.

One of the great course offers here at Ananda Yoga Nepal is the one-month long  Yoga Teacher Training course which at completion gives the students a 200 hours Yoga Teacher Certificate in the style of the Bihar Yoga and recognized by the Nepalese government. If you are looking to learn yoga here is the place, but if you are already a yoga practitioner and would like to do deeper learning in order to teach this wonderful science of yoga in your country, here is where Ananda Yoga Nepal shines. You can learn and become acquainted with the many aspects of the science of yoga in a way where you can feel competent yourself to take the new level of practice.

To share the knowledge of yoga is to participate in the rising of the world consciousness enabling people to have a happy life. All the best in Nepal at Ananda Yoga Ashram.

A fantastic insight into the real Nepal

Posted by Ananda Yoga Center on June 7, 2012 at 10:35 PM Comments comments (0)

I have had an amazing experience at the Ananda Yoga Center. To escape from busy Kathmandu into the Nepalise countryside to be able to relax and unwind. I came here as a complete beginer and I have learnt so much, not just about yoga postures but also about the theories behind its many aspects, including chanting, breathing and inner peace. The other amazing aspect of Ananda yoga center is that you are shown and experience the cultures and values of the nepalise community, within its own family and the village surrounding. This has been a fantastic insight into the real Nepal and I am now inspired to continue with my Yoga on my further travels and my life. Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me with open arms at center.

p.s. They are right the food is amazing here!!!
